How to estimate what you need
Count the work first, then pick the smallest option that covers it. A one-time catch-up on an existing catalog and the ongoing work for new products are two different needs, and the cheapest answer is often a short paid month followed by the free plan.
Example: alt text for 400 products
A store with 400 products and about four photos each has roughly 1,600 images. With ALT SEO you could:
- use the free 100 images and buy pay-as-you-go packs for the other 1,500 images: 30 packs of 50 images at $1 each, or $30 once;
- or take the Professional plan for one month (3,000 images, $59) if you also want to reprocess older images with a new format.
After the catch-up, new products usually fit in the free 100 images a month, and ALT SEO can process new images automatically.
Example: meta tags for the same catalog

Billing questions
Are the prices the same in every app?
Yes. Starter is $29, Professional $59 and Enterprise $119 a month in every paid app, or $290, $590 and $1,190 a year. Each app includes a different monthly allowance, shown in the table above. Describer is free only.
How does billing work?
Charges go through Shopify and appear on your Shopify invoice. Recurring and usage-based charges are billed every 30 days, in US dollars.
Can I switch plans or cancel?
Yes, from the Plans page inside the app, at any time. Uninstalling an app cancels its subscription automatically.
What happens when I reach my monthly limit?
Depending on the app, tasks either wait for credits or stop with a clear status until the allowance resets or you add credits with a pay-as-you-go pack or a higher plan. Each app shows your usage for the current month on its Plans page.
Do unused credits roll over?
Rules differ by app and plan: allowances reset monthly and several apps carry unused paid credits over. Check the plans article in the app's help center for the details.
Do I need a separate plan for each app?
Yes. Each app is installed and billed separately, so you only pay for the apps you use. Every app keeps its own free plan.
