Frequently Asked Questions
The apps
Who makes these apps?
All nine apps are designed, built and supported by Yassine Malti, an independent Shopify Partner based in Ottawa, Canada. They are listed on the Shopify App Store under his partner profile. More about Yassine.
What does each app do?
ALT SEO writes image alt text, RANKit writes SEO titles and meta descriptions, TAGit adds product tags and Backlinker exchanges guest posts for backlinks. Describer writes product descriptions and Blogger publishes SEO blog posts. PROMPTit edits photos, REMOVEit replaces backgrounds and VEOit makes product videos. The apps directory compares them in detail.
Which app should I install first?
Install the one that fixes your biggest gap. For most stores that is ALT SEO or RANKit, because missing alt text and weak meta tags are common and quick to fix in bulk. If your product photos are inconsistent, start with REMOVEit or PROMPTit. The solution guides explain the order that works best.
Do the apps work together?
Yes. Each app updates its own fields, so they never overwrite each other's work, and they cover consecutive steps: clean the photo, describe it, write the copy, then complete the SEO fields. You can still use any app on its own.
Plans, billing and credits
Is there a free plan?
Every app has a free plan with a monthly allowance, for example 100 images in ALT SEO, 50 meta tags in RANKit, 50 tags in TAGit, 30 credits in Backlinker and 5 images in REMOVEit. Describer is free only, with 50 descriptions a month. See all allowances on the pricing page.
How much do paid plans cost?
Paid plans use the same three tiers in every app: Starter at $29, Professional at $59 and Enterprise at $119 a month. Yearly billing costs $290, $590 or $1,190 and saves 17%. What changes between apps is the monthly allowance each tier includes.
How am I billed?
Through Shopify. Charges appear on your Shopify invoice, and recurring or usage charges are billed every 30 days. Prices are in US dollars.
What is pay as you go?
Several apps sell one-time packs on top of the free plan, such as $1 for 50 images in ALT SEO, $1 for 25 credits in Blogger or $25 for 50 images in PROMPTit and REMOVEit. Packs are useful for occasional bulk work without a subscription.
Do unused credits roll over?
It depends on the app and plan. Allowances reset every month, and several apps carry unused paid credits over. Each app's help center has an article on its monthly reset and rollover rules.
What are gift codes and the $100 free credits?
Gift codes add bonus credits to an app. The free AI toolkit gives you $100 in credits that work across the apps, including on free plans. The gift and referral code terms apply.
Can I change or cancel my plan?
Yes, from the Plans page inside each app. Uninstalling an app also cancels its subscription automatically, as with every Shopify App Store app.
Using the apps
Can I process my whole catalog at once?
Yes. Bulk tasks can target all products, specific collections or hand-picked products, with filters such as published status. Large catalogs are processed in the background and you get an email when the task finishes.
Can tasks run on a schedule?
Yes. You can schedule a task for later or repeat it weekly, monthly or quarterly, and Blogger can also publish daily. ALT SEO can additionally process new product images automatically as they are added.
Will an app overwrite content I wrote by hand?
Only if you allow it. In ALT SEO, for example, a task can overwrite existing alt text or keep it and skip images that were already processed, and the condition prompts in PROMPTit and REMOVEit skip photos that do not need editing. Each app's help center explains its options.
Which languages are supported?
Every app site and help center is available in 12 languages, and the apps write in the language you choose. TAGit and Backlinker, for example, support 33 output languages.
Quality and SEO
Is AI-written content bad for SEO?
Google's guidance focuses on whether content is helpful and accurate, not on how it was produced. The apps are built around that: they write from your real product data, follow your keywords and instructions, and keep fields to the lengths search engines display.
How do the apps avoid making things up?
They work from the product's photos, title, description, tags, vendor and type, and you can add instructions and words to avoid. Describer, for example, is instructed never to invent materials, sizes or claims. You can review every result in your Shopify admin.
Can I control tone and keywords?
Yes. Depending on the app you can set keywords to include or exclude, a brand name, a tone, a length level, a custom format or a custom prompt. The solution guides show good settings for each job.
Data and uninstalling
What store data do the apps use?
Only the data each job needs, such as product titles, descriptions, tags and images. The privacy policy explains what is collected and why, and the cookie policy covers this website.
What happens when I uninstall an app?
Future tasks stop and the subscription is cancelled. Content already written to your store, such as alt text, tags or descriptions, stays in your Shopify fields. Shopify then asks the app to delete your store's data, as required for every App Store app.
Support
How do I get help?
Start with the app's help center or community, linked from the apps page. For anything else, use the contact page or email hi@yassinemalti.com. Replies usually arrive within one business day.
Where are the terms of service?
The terms of service apply to all the Shopify apps, alongside the privacy policy.
