This Privacy Policy describes how Backlinker (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our Shopify app and related services.
- Who we are
Backlinker is a Shopify app that enables merchants to collaborate on guest blog posts and backlinks. We operate at yassinemalti.com. For privacy-related questions, contact us at yassine.malti@gmail.com.
- Information we collect
We collect and process information necessary to provide the app:
- Shop and account data – Store domain, shop name, and other data provided by Shopify when you install or use the app (e.g. via Shopify’s APIs).
- Google Search Console – If you connect Google Search Console, we receive and store OAuth tokens and the Search Console property URL you choose. We use Google’s API only to read search performance data (e.g. clicks, impressions) to display in the app. We do not access your Google account beyond the permissions you grant.
- Usage and collaboration data – Data you create inside the app, such as link requests, guest posts, chosen GSC property, and credit balances.
- Technical data – Logs and identifiers used to run the service (e.g. IP, request logs). We do not sell this data.
- How we use the information
We use the information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Backlinker app and its features.
- Display Google Search Console data (when connected) and other SEO-related metrics inside the app.
- Process link requests, publish guest posts, and manage the credit system.
- Respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations.
- Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data:
- With Shopify as required to operate the app (e.g. publishing blog posts, accessing shop data).
- With Google only when you connect Google Search Console (OAuth and API calls as you authorize).
- With service providers that help us host and run the app, under confidentiality and data protection commitments.
- When required by law or to protect our rights and safety.
- Data retention
We retain shop and app data for as long as your store uses the app and as needed for legal, support, and security purposes. If you uninstall the app, we may retain certain data for a limited period for support and compliance, then delete or anonymize it where feasible.
- Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your data. To exercise these rights or ask questions about your data, contact us at yassine.malti@gmail.com. You can revoke Google Search Console access at any time in your Google account settings.
- Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data (e.g. encryption in transit, secure storage of tokens). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we strive to reduce risk appropriately.
- Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and indicate the last updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
