These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Backlinker app and related services (“Service”). By installing or using Backlinker, you agree to these Terms.
- Description of the Service
Backlinker is a Shopify app that allows merchants to collaborate on guest blog posts and backlink exchanges. Features include discovering other participating stores, submitting and approving link requests, publishing guest posts to Shopify blogs, and a credit system. The Service may also integrate with third-party services such as Google Search Console when you choose to connect them.
- Eligibility and account
You must have a valid Shopify store and comply with Shopify’s terms and policies. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Shopify and any connected accounts (e.g. Google) and for all activity that occurs through your use of the Service.
- Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
- Use the Service to create spam, manipulate search engines, or violate Google’s or other platforms’ guidelines.
- Submit false, misleading, or infringing content as guest posts or link requests.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other merchants’ data, or any third-party systems.
- Use the Service in any way that could harm, disable, or overburden the Service or other users.
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law.
- Credits and content
Credits and other in-app benefits are part of the Service and have no cash value. We may change credit rules, limits, or pricing with reasonable notice where feasible. You are solely responsible for the content you submit or publish through the Service; you represent that you have the rights to such content and that it does not infringe third-party rights.
- Third-party services
If you connect Google Search Console or other third-party services, your use of those services is also subject to their respective terms and policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of third-party services.
- Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure operation. We do not guarantee any particular SEO or business outcome from using the Service. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.
- Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we (and our affiliates, directors, and employees) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or business, arising from or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claims arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim (or one hundred dollars if greater).
- Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or any law.
- Changes to the Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice (e.g. via the app or email). Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
- General
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service. If any provision is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any right does not waive that right. These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which we operate, without regard to conflict of law principles.
